About Us

The history of Standel Dawman Ltd in its various guises dates back to 1952 when the father of current Non-Executive Directors Alan Stanworth and Dorothy Dawes purchased the factory site upon which the company now utilises over 30,000 square feet of manufacturing space.

Indeed, we are proud to say that Alan, who started work at the site in 1957, is still working on a daily basis in the company.

The company produced its’ first ever electric golf trolley wheels in 1978, and has never looked back. Of course many Electric Golf Trolley companies have come and gone in that time, but Standel Dawman has always continued its’ work with a focus on the development of the Electric Golf Trolley market.

To date, Standel Dawman can boast:
- over 2 million wheels manufactured for the Electric Golf Trolley industry
- over 1 million clutches manufactured for the Electric Golf Trolley industry
- over 200,000 gearboxes manufactured for the Electric Golf Trolley industry
- hundreds of thousands of more components including axles, speed controllers, handles, bag supports, frame components, etc

We are proud to say that we have introduced many of the modern components and design set-ups found in the current electric golf trolley market, and are keen that we will continue a proud tradition of manufacturing quality electric golf trolley components on site at our factory in Lancashire.

Our prolonged period of investment over the last decade has ensured that we are a company with a solid foundation and extensive manufacturing base, incorporating all of the latest CNC and plastic moulding techniques to ensure that we can continue to manufacture in the UK for many years to come.
